Post Luke's First Buck.. long Quest
Been trying since he was 7 with a Crossbow.. he is now 11 .. Finally Happened on Friday. He actually had a chance at one last year, but he didn't feel good about the shot and passed on it. I was very proud of him for that because I preached to him if he didn't feel it was a good kill shot then he should pass. Had a chance at a spike early this fall but the buck saw me when I reached for the Muzzleloader. Then he had a miss with the ML on Veterans day at a little basket rack and was a little down about that, but it was a clean miss I believe. Well it finally happened Friday morning in 18 degree weather in WV with his .243 youth model. This little 8 point came over a ridge with a doe and he put him down. He got a Jake turkey when he was 7 and a doe when he was 9 .. and a black bear in the early WV bear season this past September and now his first buck.. My season was just made for me :smt003
