 sika deer Anybody ever hunted sika deer? I was thinking about entering in for a spot at the Blackwater refuge in md. Just wo.seeing if anybody on here had killed one, or knew anything about them.

Re: sika deer Looks like you've had a lot of success. Where they public land? Any advice for someone who has never hunted them before?

Re: sika deer I've never hunted them in Maryland; only during the lottery hunts on Assateague Island. Early season they move well and you can still hunt them like whitetail. After a little pressure they tend not to move at all. Our group hunts them like rabbits. We will drive in a straight line through the brush and jump shoot them. Often (not always) they will hold tight until you near about step on them before they jump.
