Although not a deer hunter myself thought maybe some may like to see some pictures of nice deer.

One of a few nice bucks taken with a bow this year at Quantico. This one was taken the second week of bow season. Although a nine someone told him they are going to score it a typical 8 point with deduction. Like the hunter said, who really cares about score it is a nice deer and a great hunt.

No, he got it in an area that was always a gun area till this year and is now bow only. Its all public record, it was 5B.

There was a nice 17 pointer checked in today from 7A. There have been a few nice ones this year but none from mainside like you would think.

WOW - if I saw that coming through the woods I would swear it was an elk! Now the $1000 Dollar question - did he see or hear any turkeys?

This is stupid of me to say so I apologize to all readers in advance, but here goes. First something non-stupid. There isn't a deer hunter in the country who would have let this deer walk, what an absolute stud!!!!. Now for the stupid. If this deer was in fact only 4.5 imagine what he would have been at 5.5 or 6.5. Just wow. I know, stupid comment. Who cares, what an incredible whitetail!

OK Jeff give me $1,000 and I will answer. LOL Some great turkey reports coming in from lots of areas. Lots of long beard sightings. Hope to call in my second LB this fall/winter during the Dec or Jan. season. Get with me and I will let you know some good spots to take your dog.

I would think the same. And now this year and seeing the stats for the last 30 years on base that after a great mass crop as this year and if we get by with an easy winter there should be some pigs next year. Actually a couple reports from hunters seeing real pigs in a couple northern areas of base.

I will say that the 2 bioligist's, one still here since 1983 and the other that went to AP Hill have done great things with the deer heard here trying to manage for quality deer and being a public hunting base along with a lot of military training (their hands tied so to speak) have done extremally well.
