I hunted Friday afternoon and all day Saturday in Bedford. Deer movement seemed to be just OK. No real sign of rut activity....yearling bucks on the move but no chasing and the saw no big boy movement. How about you all?

Last week I saw bucks chasing every day including 2 nice bucks that I couldn't get shots at on Wednesday in Eastern Rockingham. I only saw one button buck on Saturday and no deer yesterday evening. Activity was wide open for everyone in our group last week and no one has seen much since Friday. I hope it's not over but the activity that we saw last week is usually more common for the second week of muzzleloader then it slows from there. We will see!

Seems like it is just starting to get cranking in Western Augusta County. Bucks have been doing the typical scrapes, rubs and chasing does a little, but the does did not seem ready. Seems like the does are starting to come in and the bucks are running them full bore now.

Albemarle has been hopping for about a week or two and I agree with jkeys25...western Augusta is beginning to heat up now.

I saw 8 does and a spike chased 4 of them off in the mountains yesterday. the other 4 does were by themselves. I think it's about to bust open out there. Hopefully will see some big boys moving if I can get some spare time to get into the woods

Saw a spike also running a doe yesterday. Big spike, should have shot him but I was holding out for something larger. Lots of shooting in Shenandoah Co. yesterday. Sounded like a war.
