I was hunting tuesday evening and what looked to be a ferrit mixed possum all black came by me, Been hunting 24 years have never seen one. Asked an ol'timer round here he said it was a weasel i was in shock when i seen it , he said i should have shot it there hard on turkeys??? |

Probably a Fisher, I have seen several in this area. They are a mean looking thing, but I dont think that you can legally kill them either?! |

Where you near water? If so, it very likely could have been a mink. There are WAY more mink around here than weasels. A weasel's body would be close to that of a squirrel, or smaller. |

In order of probability from description I would say: Mink, Otter, Skunk (they can be all black). |
