I took off last week and besides my powder mishap never saw another shooter.. today I saw two .. this guy in range .. he is no monster but a nice buck.. This is the only day I can hunt this week so I am glad to get him.. I almost let him get away.. I shot his leg off the first shot and God smiled on me and he stayed around long enough for me to reload and kill him with the second.. I still am not sure what happened on the first shot.. buck fever I guess..

I pulled a Trail Cam card today that I had not checked in a couple of weeks and low and behold this buck was on it that I killed .. This was the first Pics that I am aware of that I have of him.. unless it was a year ago as a smaller buck..

The other shooter was at 280 yds .. and only popped out after a doe for a second then right back in the timber .. I was hunting field edge..

This buck had a hot doe and was warding off two small bucks that were after her.. so even after I shot him in the leg he would not leave her.. I just got lucky they all didn't run at the first shot.. but I will take it :)

My father always said I would rather be lucky then good. The deer Gods smile on each of of occasionally. Congrats on the hard earned buck. I have yet to get a shooter in my sights. Got a couple does in my fridge though. :)

When does rifle start down there?
