I took my 11 year old son out today for youth deer day. We had a great day even though he didn't shoot anything. I was proud of him for deciding not to take a questionable shot at a doe. I had a good view but his view wasn't. He could only see part of her neck and head. While we waited for her to come closer for a better shot, we saw 2 little ones and a few other does with her. They wandered off and never presented a good shot. We did have fun and we did see deer! We also had a jake come within 20 yards before he noticed the two blaze orange bumps on the ground. It was good for him to see a turkey that close! Well, bow season starts next week! Good luck everyone! |

Good for him for holding off on a better shot. Few regret not taking a shot....can't say the same for the other way around. |
