I just bought a Winchester Model 70 7mm Magnum. Just wondering if anyone out there has this gun or was seeing what people think about it. Just give me all you opinions on the gun/caliber. I am just interested. I bought it as an all around rifle i can use for anything, esp. deer and larger game. Thanks |

You will love your 7mm. Its the only rifle I've hunted with for the last 30 yrs. Best all around rifle IMO. Shoots flatter than a 270, Hits harder than a 30-06. Take em in close or reach out there. Good rifle for anything in N. America except maybe grizzly/brown bear. |

Killed my last elk with one. Mine is stainless and I changed to a composite stock before going out west. Wouldn't use it for brown bear either, but most any other game in N. America is suited to it. Lots of different bullets to choose from if you hand-load. Another to look at is the 284 Win. You can get almost the same balistics of a 7mm but with a short action. Saves a little weight in the gun if that's important to you. You won't go wrong with your 7mm though... |

I like my 7mm but I haven't shot anything larger than a whitetail. |
