Decoy setup
What types of decoys you guys normally run? Jake, strutted, hens. What do you use for fields vs timber, early vs late season?

Re: Decoy setup
To me it all depends on the situation. 95% of the time when I'm by myself I'll go without decoys. If I happen to be hunting a field I'll take a DSD jake and hen, but I prefer to do my battles in the hardwoods. If I'm taking someone or youth I'll have decoys just to give them something to focus the gun towards and something for the gobbler to look at instead of them.

Re: Decoy setup
I'm with the two above me. I have a hen and Jake but find myself using those in fields. Seldom use them in the hardwoods.

Re: Decoy setup
Yep to everyone else except sometimes if I'm hunting a very subordinate Tom, I only use a hen. Seems like there is always one gobbler around who has had his butt whipped so much he doesn't even want to go near a Jake decoy. Single hen can sometimes seal the deal in that case.
