Re: 20ga turkey load recommendation
20 Gauge hunters have never had it better then now. Three different readily available loads can turn your 20 gauge into an honest 40 yard gun. I've shot the Federal Heavyweight size 7, Hevi-13 in size 7 and the Hevi-blends. All were shot out of either an Indian Creek .555 or a Sumtoy .562. All three provided well over 100 hits within a 10 circle at 40 measured yards, with the best being the Heavyweight. The heavyweight has a full 1.5 ounces of shot while the two Hevi-13's are 1 1/4 ounce loads. I have given up carrying a 12 gauge except as a back up gun. FWIW, I am shooting a Benelli Nova camo with a 26" barrel. 6 lbs 11 ounces including the sling (just weighed it).

Vaturkeyhntr wrote: Only problem is you can't find heavyweights anywhere right now!!!!! Gander Mountain in Winchester had them last week. That said, I bought 4 boxes on line from Midway. They for sure were an SOB to find this year for some reason. Update is Midway is out of stock except for the 2 3/4" now. Only place that has them in stock that I can find as of this morning it Mack's Prairie Wings.

Re: 20ga turkey load recommendation
Decided to give the Federal HWs #7s a try. The only ones out there are the 2 3/4" shells.
Anybody know where the 3" can be found (except for Vaturkeyhntr's ammo box)?

Anybody know where the 3" can be found? Literally a needle in a haystack right now to find, online or in stores. I got lucky and found 4 boxes yesterday at Gander Mountain.

Vaturkeyhntr wrote: NICE!!!! gotta buy them up when you find them Hard to believe a month or so before Turkey season and perhaps the best 20 gauge load anywhere is not in stock. Federal is missing the boat. BTW, they have a rebate right now as well. $10 rebate for two boxes. I sent my rebate in Monday. That brought them down to about $14.00 per box for me because I got mine earlier on sale.
