Re: KS world turkey hunting championship
Never heard of it. But hunting turkeys for prizes or status to me is not a sport or passion I share. But if it is just a calling thing yea great, but not the killing of turkeys for prizes and status. Maybe I am taking it wrong since I don't know what it is about, but just the title sets wrong with me. Sorry did not mean to expand since it was just a yes or no question.

From what I see it's 3 man teams and they give you land to hunt for 2 days. The highest total score of all birds "wins". Just sounds like fun to meet new people who love turkey hunting and getting to hunt some new country.

Re: KS world turkey hunting championship
Now that I know about it I already sent out a text to a friend about getting into this in the next couple years. No doubt its probably a blast the days the event is going on, and putting your skills up against some of the so called "best" turkey hunters would be another reason. Also for people who are looking to get into call sponsoring and product sponsoring, there is no doubt if you were to place in the top couple spots of this event you would have a good chance at that.

Re: KS world turkey hunting championship
First let me say I am definitely in 'Ghost's corner on this one.
I watched some film of what I recall was this event on some TV hunting show and it looked like this was more than casual (read "fun") competition and looked pretty much like a cut throat street fight to win the thing . Maybe its just not my cup of tea and I was not looking at it with an open mind. Maybe you should go and enter it and give us old disbelievers an unbiased report on it.
