scouting today. Got to the one area on the Q about 0745. Left the truck about 100 yards and heard a bunch of tree talk on this one section of pines I was headed to. Made my way slowly towards them. Once about 100 yards from them I seen a couple birds leave the roost. Then just on the edge of the pine ridge seen flashes of the birds headed down the ridge. Once in the pines no doubt the birds have been there since the snow. Headed towards another pine ridge/thicket about 500 yards from that one and again a lot of fresh and old sign. Finished the loop back to the truck and headed to the northern part of the area and got into a few more birds again in the pines. Not really that much sign out in the hardwoods. Beautiful sunny day to be out and about.
