Had a great opening day minus the kill. I heard two to three gobblers talking on the roost. I set up about 100 yards from the closest one In a well traveled spot. He flew down after 20 minutes of sitting down. I caught glimpse of him about 75 yards through the woods and watched him catch eye of my decoys. Then two huge hens came in 10 yards away and were upset with my decoys. No fighting but a war of words. The gobbler kept his distance and never came in to give me a shot. I look forward to Monday and the chance to hunt him again. Just wanted to share my opening day and hope everyone had a safe and great opening day.

Sometimes they just inexplicably turn in the wrong direction for no reason. Stick it out. Good things will happen
