Monday found me on the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge in Loudoun County. Action was slow until the 9:30 bell rang and I set up on two 2-year olds who were competing to see who could gobble the most. After limited success in luring them my way with a diaphram call I relocated 50 yards closer and switched to the peg and pot variety. Although they continued to hammer away at every call, they would still not commit. After repositioning another 25 yards closer and switching to a box, the game was on. 20 minutes later a load of Winchester number 5's flolded the lead bird in his tracks. He taped out at 16 lbs. 8 oz. and he sported a 10 inch beard. We gotta love the two year olds!
