This was a great morning for all of us! I hunt on this property and the landowner ask me to take his grandson this morning on his first ever gobbler hunt. So last week i met with him and let him shoot my 20 ga so he would be comfortabe with it. Thursday evening me and his granddad set up 2 blinds because his Dad wanted to come along and also sister wanted to also but she ended up sick and didnt make it out. We left early to get our decoys up and me and the dad got in one blind and Grandad and Justin got in there blind. It wasnt long before we was greeted by at least 8 gobblers within 200 yds :D I mad a couple tree calls and waited for flydown. The Dad has never turkey hunted either and told me before we even seen any he was having fun! Wasn't long before 2 longbeards fleww in the field and landed 20 yds from blind. They saw pretty boy and headed right to him! After a few minutes dancing around him i was waiting on the shot but he was having trouble getin him in the scope. They eventually headed toward woods and Justin shot but missed! Hey been there done that before! After 10 minutes the other gobblers fired up and the game was on again! Want long before his Dad said here comes 5 longbeards and one is strutting! I had the video camera setup on my decoys and didn't wand to chance moving it but this time justin connected!! After the shot one gobbler jumped on the flopping gobbler and got it on video but forgot to push the record button  Oh well great morning his bird was right at 20 lbs 9 inch beard and 3/4 spurs! I think Justin and Dad are now hooked!!!!

Nice bird. I think the mild winter and lots of acorns may result in some bigger birds taken this year.
