Not a turkey topic but my turkey hunting mentor was a big fan of his & so was I. I always listen to Flatt & Scruggs on my way to the woods in the Spring.
These guys are the reason I got into Bluegrass. In 1979 I bought their album "The World of Flatt & Scruggs" and been hooked ever since.
Nobody did the "three finger roll" better.
RIP Earl

He inspired may people to play the banjo. He is an american icon. I'm also a huge Doc Watson fan.

Speaking of bluegrass and Virginia, you boys ever heard of James King? Give that boy a listen some time if you aren't familiar with his work. I'd highly suggest "Echo Mountain" and listen close to the words. "Bed by the window" and "Daddy doesn't pray anymore" are a few other good ones but he has a ton of good work.
