Post my opinion
Hope Sunday hunting never passes. Just my opinion. But if it does, it would be nice if it were only bowhunting on Sundays. I am an avid bow hunter who takes trips to the midwest every year and bow hunts here in VA at least 4 days a week during bow season. And yes I am a deer dogger as well and very very proud of it. I don't think it's right for us to run our dogs on Sunday and I don't think it's right for someone to gun hunt on Sunday.

You are entitled to your opinion :)

I hope it does eventually pass..

Both my sons are in sports (baseball, football, Basketball) .. Saturdays are game day for most of those.. so no hunting for any of us most of the time nowadays.

I would like to have the option to take them hunting with me on Sundays ..

I also don't think it is right that the legislators invoke this old blue law to tell landowners that they can't hunt on their own land one day a week during season. The DGIF has finally come out in support of Sunday Hunting, the legilators rely on them to set seasons and bag limits, yet there is this law that prevents a landowner from using their property the way they want to during that season. It should be the landowners choice, if he or she wants to hunt on Sunday he or she should be able to, if he or she wants to not hunt or not allow hunting then he or she should be able to.

I know there are a lot of landowners against SH too, but I just don't think it is right for the legislators to tell someone they can't do something on their own property that is perfectly legal the other six days of the week during that hunting season.

My opinion.. I know alot of my friends on here don't want to see it pass either, but I don't hold it against them and hope they don't hold it against me either :)

Well said Randy, You know where I stand, It's not to hold anyone back from doing we they love to do. It's a fear we might be pushing our luck and drawing negitive attention to our sport. It just an angle for some band wagon anti hunting groups to hop on. I would love to see it work out so both sides(hunters for and hunter agianst) come together and agree. I believe we are only hurting ourselves with all the slamming on each other and that is what they want.

Post Re: my opinion
I think that this whole thing is ridiculous! I grew up in PA, no Sunday hunting. Got stationed in MT, Sunday hunting, which was weird at first but I grew to appreciate the option. Then I got stationed in AZ, more Sunday hunting. Now I get stationed here, and can't hunt on Sunday...again. So now I drive four hours one-way on Friday evening to hunt Saturday and then turn around and drive home Sunday, when I could be hunting that morning. Its one of the reasons I spend the money to go out of state every year, so that I can actually get a weeks worth of hunting for a weeks worth of leave. I don't understand why so many people that are pro-hunting are anti-Sunday hunting. All it does is give more opportunity. Nothing in the rules and regulations says that you must hunt on Sunday and shoot as many rounds as possible in multiple directions towards churches, preschools, hiking trails, and malls. All it does is give you an option should you choose to use it. I would just like the chance to make up my own mind.

It amazes me that the four House subcommittee members that killed Sunday hunting voted to allow bear hound training in the dark on Sunday. Now I will have bear hunters on my posted private property in the dark and that including Sunday. Something stinks in Denmark!
