I have not seen the first morel this year
since we are all talking about how bad things are for some of our turkey spots, I thought I would just throw out the little factoid that I have not seen the first morel/dryland fish mushroom in the woods this year...anywhere...now that is the first time in along long time I can say that folks....a friend has a place that has produced a few, but personally I have not seen any. zero. nada. zilch... the old black skillet is sure lonesome up there on the shelf.

I have been finding six or eight per outing during April, in places I normally find thirty to fifty. It rained here on Sat. so I went out Sun. afternoon and found thirty seven, twelve white and the rest were black morels. They have been almost as scarce as the turkeys for me
Keep em Gobblin!

I heard on the news that a man looking for flowers in Ruch Oregon found a morel that was 14" high, 12" dia. and weighted nearly 1 pound. Like to find some of those!
