Post Michigan Turkey Success
What a hunt I had this year!
Hunted 6 days. Had gobbles every day. Called them close three times to no avail then my last day came! The Tom i concentrated on days 1-5 kept getting stolen away by a hen. So on my last day i set up on a different bird i heard the day before. this one gobbled ~ 6 a.m. answered two of my calls, then flew down behind me, came my way, hesitated slightly so i gave him a little cut which brought him into the field chain gobbling at my two hens and jake decoys. Shot him at 20 yards. Was back to my van at 6:45 a.m. 20#, 9 3/4" beard, 3/4" spurs. My 3rd career bird, but the first one i called and tagged on my own. Just got done eating him (got him yesterday!) Keep the great stories coming, GOOD LUCK TO ALL. 355 days to the 2006 season!!!

Congrats on your first solo bird! They are special. Glad you were in birds everyday and able to play the game. Thanks for sharing your story.
