My wife and I just returned from three days of turkey hunting in Virginia's Bath Co. We hunted 4/21-4/23 and while we didn't hear a single gobble or see a turkey, we had a great time. Although the weather changed each day, going from hot to downright cold, it cooperated for three glorious morning hunts. The woods were beautiful and the area offered what appeared to be perfect turkey woods. We enjoyed every minute of our time hunting Virginia. Va residents should appreciate what you have. Compared to my home state of Pennsylvania, Virginia offers huge tracts of natural forests that are well managed and protected. In PA, many areas have been used and abused with a variety of destructive land practices such as mining, timbering, oil and gas wells and more. Very few areas of PA are protected from these land uses. Even the Allegheny National Forest is marred by gas and oil wells, with roads and pipes running everywhere. (The public does not own the oil and mineral rights, just the surface) These areas are cut by numerous roads, both old and new, almost everywhere one walks. We really appreciated Virginia's large tracts of protected lands. Enjoy it, appreciate it and keep up the good work!

Glad you enjoyed it! Birds have been a little quite this week. Killed one on 22nd in Craig County and he was the only bird gobbling that morning. Took until 9:30 yesterday morning before we heard the first bird.
