Post Anybody ever heard this?
I have heard plenty of double and triple-gobbles, but yesterday morning I had a tom roosted at 0600 that was quadruple-gobbling!! He started off tradtionally w/ singles and then an occasional double. He was henned up (again) and every time one of his girlfriends would talk dirty to him he gave a quadruple-gobble (POWowowPOWowowPOWowowPOWowow). He must've gobbled about 50 times before they flew down and he shut up. A first for me. Never got a good look at him, but he sounded BIG!

I was set up on a bird a couple of years ago. A distant train went by, and the noise made him gobble non stop for what seemed to be like 5 minutes. Hard to count how many times he gobbled in a row, sounded like 1 long drawn out gobble non stop. Neat to hear them when they do that.

I think 2003 season opening day my son and I parked the truck to hunt and a thunder storm was approaching. We heard a gobbler make ten consecutive gobbles to thunder.

I posted on this subject last year to some guffaws. I have heard a gobbler go 12+ gobbles in a row without stopping. He did this countless times that morning. AND he was on public land in amherst. Had a buddy w/ me. We couldn't believe it and didn't know it could be done either till then.

I've heard them gobble to the point where it sounded like they ran out of air and nearly chocked to death! Fun to listen to.
