North Carolina Hunting
My buddy and I have been hunting our hunt club for turkeys the past two weeks. My partner Chad is an excellant caller but both of us can not get the turkeys to come in this year. We are set up on a bird every morning. Also during the day we can not seem to get them fired up from 9:00am to 2:00pm like in years past. There is plentity of gobblers on the property and we have moved around.
I didn't now if anybody else was having this problem

What part of the state are you hunting? We haven't been hearing much gobbling after the roost in the Southeast part.

We are hunting in northern Franklin County and in the edge of Warren County. My fatherinlaw has a nice farm in Granville County but the turkeys never goble at all on the roost.I killed one there last year the first time I ever hunted it but that turkey gobled around 9:00 am to some cutting.

I am here in NC not to far from where you hunt and am still seeing some birds with hens. Watched a very nice gobbler this afternoon and took a few pictures with the 35MM of him and his five hens....had I a tag left he would have taken a dirt nap. Hopefully can talk the wife into attempting to fill her last tag in the morning, as I watched him fly up to roost. He will be a tough customer to deal with all the hens around him,,, but will gladly take our chances!!!
