Powhatan WMA
Has anyone hunted the Powhatan WMA this year? I am thinking of going out there on Friday. Do you think I will be wasting my time?
Thanks
Jim K.

I used to hunt it when I lived in Richmond a couple of years ago. Walking and calling isn't the best tactic. If you don't hear anything early look for some sign and set up in the nearest thick cover. Call soft and sporadically, they tend to sneak around out there after the first week.

But they get hunted very hard. However, if you find fresh sign they will respond to calling, but it might be silent.
