Well guys!! i first want to start out by in one big CONGRATS to everybody who either took a bird or had a great time saturday regardless.. a few of yall have seen the post i set up about my day on saturday.. and i'm still in shock about all of that.. i'll be tellin that one for awhile!!>. anywaysssss.. lets get back to business!!.


i went out monday morning to the exact spot.. well a lil bit further down the ridge.. b/c i had a gobbler answer the power owl ( thanks freddy for making that suggestion.. everytime i have used it.. a gobbler has answered).. anyways.. he was gobbling one other ridge over.. however. on top of it.. and i had to cut through a field to get to him. there was no way i was gonna do that.. .. anyways. i set up on the field edge and waited for daylight.. with a few gobbles from the bird.. i decided to let him know. i was there!!.. a few very soft yelps.. and GOBBLE!. i forgot to mention.. the bird is probably 70 yards away.. welll.. all great and everything. buttttt everytime the tom would answer.. he had a hen right with him.. and she would cut him off everytime he gobbled..... long story short... he hit the ground. and that was it!!>. nothin... nada.. after awhile. i decided to head on out.. got home. and had to take care of a couple things... low and behold.. i looked through a window.. and there. she was.... a few min later there HE was.. i mean HUGE GOBBLER!!.. i told my wife.. i'm headed out the door.. lol. threw my camo on.. grabbed a call.. and a couple shells.. ( ofcourse my gun ).. and went down my drive way.. the turkey was 30 ft from my house.. right behind.. a garden area in some woods.. i used some laurel bushes to block my approach.. one soft call from the driveway.. and not one gobbler.. not two gobblers. but three gobblers answer me.. ( this is at 11:40.. talk about bad timing... anyways.. i called they answerd.. and over and over again.. they all started working there way.. wellll shooting time had expired.. and the hunting day was over!!!.. i slipped back into my house.. without the birds spooking.. went to my sunroom. which over looks the garden.. and there HE was.. full strut.. 20 yards away.. gobbling at everything. including a helicopter that flew over.. and there was absolutely nothing i could do about it!!!>.

couldnt get out this morning.. ( the allergies didnt want to let me ).. but.. tomorrow morning.. rain or shine!!>.. you know where i will be!!.. only three days in .. 2 days hunting.. and i've heard more gobbling. seen more birds. then i did all of last season.. great season so far!!>. my turn is coming!!!>.
