 Purring
PM,
I know you started this discussion a while back. Since then I have been working hard to purr using the gargle method. After several days I am finally starting to get a purr that sounds pretty good. I think with more practice it will work just fine. The call you use makes a big difference too. One side I would like to add to maybe help you with this, I found that gargle is the correct polite way to say how to do it, but since I am not politically correct I think it reminds me more of clearing my throat or more specifically coughing up a lugey. When you clear flem from your throat you get the uvula oscelating pretty good. The same kind of action El D said when gargling. So try to clear your throat and get that gutteral sound moving in the back of your throat and then run it over your call. It will probably come out bassy at first, but repositioning your tongue will change the pitch and get you to the right octive.
Maybe worth a shot.
