Hope to see the Northern Virginia forum members at the banquet. WVBoy--your tickets are in the mail. See you there. The National Capital Area Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation is holding its annual Sportsmen’s Banquet, March 12, 2005, at the Park West Lions Club, 8620 Sunnygate Drive, Manassas, Virginia. Call or e-mail Linda Layser at (540) 886-1761 or rglayser@msn.com or Todd McCollough at (703) 583-0873 or housemtn@earthlink.net. Flier and ticket request forms are also at: http://embark.to/NWTF for ticket information and request. The NWTF is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to conservation of the wild turkey and its habitat and preservation of the hunting tradition. Our Chapter holds annual Youth Field Day (JAKES) Events, Women's Field Day (WITO) Events and sponsor Somerville Youth Home teenagers at these events, give a scholarship to a high school senior, perform conservation work in Northern Virginia (for example: plant trees and brood plots on C.F. Phelps Wildlife Management Area and donate hundreds of hours to conservation work on Quantico Marine Corps Base each year), and support the hunting and shooting sports. |
