 Tagged out today !!Had a blast today and got a nice two year old bird.Weighted 18 lbs 2 ozs.10.5 in.beard and 3/4" spurs.Had something happen that I haven't ever had happen in my 62 years. I went over to a friends farm and they have a logging operation going on , on the best side of the farm(usually the best) so I headed out to the river bottom.Got down there and it was just light enough to see to shoot.After calling a couple times they gobbled out too close for confort.I didn't have time to get set up properly so I just flopped down and it was on.Here came five long beards running like their tails were on fire.I got gobbler fever and shot the lead bird and just stunned him and he started flopping around and I had to shoot him the second time. Boy that was a sight I'll never forget all them beards swinging and gobbling their heads off.Man what a way to wrap it up.I'll be taking some kids out for the remainder of the season."Keep Looking Up Guys"

Good job cottontop! Sounds like you had a great season!
I tagged out early Saturday in the Axton area and located a few more birds that were gobbling good later in the morning. Im hoping to get a bird in range for my daughter next saturday. This has been a great but unusual year for me here in Henry and Pittsylvania County. Lots of birds out there. Good luck iisabigone |

Thats great, it's always hard to carry unfilled tags in your wallet all summer, probally even be better if you call some birds in for them youngins. good luck
