Post subject:  Last weekend action great in the va foothills
Finally finished up my school exams last thursday and headed to the va hills. The action was hot, roosted some birds that evening, and redeemed a opening morning miss with a nice tom the next morning, while dressing him the birds were tearing it up. It only took 15 minutes the next morning to call in this birds near twin, but i messed up after i shot him by calling up another to watch him strut, this bird hung up this morning but i"ll give him ago the last week. These birds acted like they have never been called to, it was great. Only saw one hen so my guess is they are sitting making for some lonely gobblers.

T. W. It was smoking hot here too! I tagged out on Saturday and called in another bird for one of my buddies on Friday.

I scouted another location late saturday morning and got two birds cranked up pretty good then walked away from them, they were still gobbling when I cranked the truck.

My 10 year old daughter wont be able to hunt with me until Saturday morning. Were still looking for her first bird.

My buddy killed another bird this morning that had been henned up all season. He was alone on the roost but a hen came to him at daylight. My friend just took a nap and when the tom finished with the hen he came looking for the hen he had heard earlier in the morning.

Im thinking the rest of this week will be good in the piedmont of Virginia
