Post no luck yet.. but getting closer!!
reading everybody's posts gets me a lil jealous.. but more proud than jealous... the pictures and stories are just awesome this year.. it seems like just about everybody is having a pretty good year so far... my year is going great.. no bird taken yet.. but i'm getting closer... the birds have stopped gobbling in my neck of the woods in Franklin County and Bedford County... i think they are still really henned up though.. hopefully that'll change soon!... anyways.. this morning i had the privilige to hunt with a buddy of mine that deer hunts with me... this is his first year of turkey huntin.. and let me tell you.. he is having a great season!.. he has already killed one.. HIS SECOND DAY EVER hunting turkeys... He has had some help.. but that is what it is all about.. anyways... i took him this morning to a favorite spot.. and he was excited this morning. naturally.. i was to!.. =) anyways.. it was quiet.. alll morning ! noooooo birds gobbling.. not one!!! however... we are set up on a field and low and behold i see a turkey comin through the field... i tell my buddy to get ready!.. i called this turkey in from a long long ways off.. he never made a peep though.. kinda strange... anyways... my buddy puts it on him ( so he thought, and so did i )... pulls the trigger ... and then the humbling.. swish swish swish swish of the birds wings soaring into the air!... ohh well. thats how it goes.. as i sat there and kinda laughed for a lil bit!.. my buddy.. looks at me.. and just drops his head in disbelief!.. i told him.. that's turkey hunting! =)

maybe next time.. ( but next time.. i'm doin the shooting! ) =)

You are right about that, it is turkey hunting. thats why we don't call it turkey killing! It is the tough that makes it great. If it was easy everybody would be doing it!

Way to play the game. Keep after 'em. Can't kill 'em from the couch.
