Post subject:  helping with a wheelin' sportsmen hunt

Peacemaker recently told me he was interested in volunteering to help with wheelin' hunts and asked me how he could help since he didn't have land to offer for hunting events. Following are some things that need to be done to have a wheelin' sportsmen hunt:
Find accessible areas to hunt. A lot of landowners are very receptive to helping with a hunt of this type.
Scout hunting areas to match the hunters capabilities with the terrain.
Set and level 4'x4' plywood sheets for all wheelchair hunters.
The small tires on wheel chairs easily sink into soft ground limiting manueverability.
Arrange for tent blinds in case of rain.
Have experienced hunters to assist the wheelin' hunters.
Designate a centralized area for everyone to meet before the hunt.

Arrange for lunch and a place to have it. We used the pavilion of a local Church.
Ask the hunters beforehand what they need.
Maybe do t-shirts to commemorate the hunt.

There's more little things to do and you will find these as the hunt nears.
Get your local NWTF chapter to host a hunt.
