I'm in a debate with myself whether or not to put a scope on my 870. I missed a longbeard this a.m. and with all the juggling I did prior to season with shells and sights I have no confidence in my gun. Just curious about what you guys think about scoping a turkey gun, What type of mount, scope do you guys think would be best. |

dont do it unless your eyes tell you that you need to like mine did. if you do it...use a b-square saddle mount and good rings. i would recommend the leupold vari-x II scope. find the saddle mount with see through option and you will also need a bear tooth comb-raising kit to get your cheek up off the gun to better align your eye with the newly mounted scope. |

I used a Pentax lightseeker scope on my 1300 for years and loved it.......just frame the head up in the circle and squeeze........I'd recommend it. |

I've been using a scope on my turkey gun for about 7 years now. I love it. I shoot a Browning A-5, b-square mounts, leupold scope. barry |

I have been using a Leupold 1X4 scope on my Remington M/870 since I purchased it and I am totally happy with the setup. My eyes told me it was time to start using a scope, oh the joys of getting older, and the only thing I would change about my scope is to have it with the new Leupold Turkey Reticle. |

Like Diablo saya, if you need it, get it! I have a 1X40 red dot scope. This works very well. When I see my dot on his neck, I have confidence that it will take him down! |

I went with the leupold 1X4 scope as well. Main reason was that my gun always shot "high left", no matter what shell I put through the gun?????? So by scoping it, I just dialed in the crosshairs right to the very center of my pattern.....problem solved!! After using a scope now since 93', I wouldn't go back to a bead sight. |
