Post FL public land trip report
Got back from the annual family hunting trip on Saturday.

We worked the boys to death, and they fell asleep regularly during our setups.

We put lots of miles on the boots and bicycles hunting turkey-sparse areas. We all slept good in our tents at night since we were so worn out by the time we got in the sack.

I called in this one for my son James. It was the only bird I worked all week. He only gobbled once, and swung around quietly behind us. He walked about 10 feet from me and James had to make a nice move to get off the shot.

15 pounds, 1 1/8" and 1 1/16" spurs, 10 1/16" beard.

My brother Greg killed this bird after his son Michael didn't pull the trigger because he didn't think he had a good shot. Michael ended up missing two opportunities at birds due to timidity at taking the shot.

It was 18 pounds, 3/4" spurs, and 8 3/4" beard.

My youngest daughter wanted to go, but we made her stay home this year...
