Freddy's natural voice Owl is the best I've heard. Just plan on taking him with you on all your hunts.
Seriously, I use the Palmer hoot. I think it has a really good sound.

Any recommendations on an owl hooter, I've tried a H/S Strut (Palmer I think), Knight and Hale and a barrel type. None of them seemed to get the volume I thought was required. Any suggestions and where to purchase it. |

I own a Palmer's Hoot Tube. It's fair, but probably a good call just a poor operator. I know TScott will chime in here shortly on this thread. He has many. I think the Primos Camp Owl sounds great. |

I'm a fan of the Primos Camp Owl and the Palmer. What I like about the Primos call is that it has a barrel which is removable. You can call softly with it on, extend it a bit to get more volume or take it all the way off and you then have a Primos Power Owl for lot's of volume. I usally use the barrel for who cooks for you and just use the power owl for laughing. I don't think you need a lot of volume anyway. All I try to do is call in an owl or five and let them do their magic.
P.S. If I get time later,I have a brand New Primos Camp Owl that I'm going to put on here to auction off. You might be able to get one cheap and for a good cause

Palmer is good, but I have an old wooden barrel call that sounds better tahn any I have heard, other than Freddy that is

If you can't owl with your voice check out the new Primos Shock N' Owl, new for 2006. It has excellent volume and is extremely easy to use. Our Power Owl (which is actually the barrel from the Camp Owl) doesn't have enough volume...the Shock N' Owl is a huge improvement over that call. -Eric |
