Post subject:  5th Annual VATurkey Spring Gobbler Contest
The 5th Annual VATurkey Spring Turkey Contest will begin on March 4, 2006 (Earliest season in the US) To enter you will need to post under this heading before your season begins, or before you hunt. This post will lock and close on April 3rd Midnight. Your Donation (*See Below) must be received (postmarked) April 7th 2006. You must be a registered user of VATurkey to enter. Scoring will be based on the NWTF formula.(2xBeard, 10X Spurs, and Weight)
*Donations of $10.00 (Minimum) can be Mailed to Freddy McGuire, 2208 Chandler Road, Goodview VA 24095 or use the PayPal account on the front (Main) page. Also if you Donate $25 or more you will receive a VATurkey hat free.

You must post the stats of birds killed on the appropriate post (To be listed later) to qualify for the contest. Also a Picture of the bird in the post. Instructions on that will be in the thread.
The 5th annual VATurkey Spring Contest will include the following Categories:

1st, 2nd, 3rd place for:

Bird killed in Virginia - Typical

Bird killed not in Virginia - Typical

Also a Prize for the Best NonTypical Bird (2 beards or more, etc)


Youth Contest (16 & under) - Free with prizes to all entries killing a bird and posting results.

Somebody on the Rules Commmittee asked me to say a few things. I know al the regulars know this "contest" is just for fun, and really is a chance ot brag on a very nice bird or two and is not designed, intended or meant to get anybodys competteive juices flowing to the point they worry about this thing...and the 10$ is a pure donation to freddy for the board..but for the new folks , the prizes are nice and the honor system has not had any serious issues yet. It does require a photo of the bird though, right Hody?
