Just got the phone call , my youngest just killed his first bird entirely on his on. Had a dentist appointment this morning before school and came down last nite and said he may go out this morning solo. Told him to have at it and that my decoy stakes were in my vest and to be careful . Went to a somewhat small piece of family land ( 65 acres) that always produces . Dreaded east wind this morning and he said no gobbles heard on the roost. He has learned a little patience and sat tight and had a hen come in and I think they had a conversation and she came in and scolded the decoys. Said he finally heard a gobble way off to the west and got the bird to answer . Took about 15 min but he got him to commit and head to our little piece of paradise and Will took care of the rest . Pretty proud Poppa at the moment , still waiting on pics
