Post Bedford turkey hunt
I'm with a non-profit group here in Bedford called the Bedford Outdoor Sportsman Association Inc. -BOSA for short
We hosted our signature event yesterday the Gunnin’ For Gobblers spring turkey hunt. This hunt is dedicated to providing people with disabilities the opportunity to once again participate in spring turkey hunting. Among those was a United States War Veteran that received the Silver Star, our nation’s 3rd highest award for combat valor, for his efforts in Operation Iraqi Freedom! We have also had the privilege of guiding two blind gentlemen on successful spring turkey hunts.
It was a learning experience for all involved for the first hunt or two but since then our hunters have taken 54 total birds. 23 different hunters have taken their first bird ever on our hunt and 9 of those were veterans.
Thanks go out to the landowners that give us access to their property, to the guides that give up a day of hunting to help others and to the many volunteers that help with this event.
Yesterday was a good day as we took 6 birds.
For 3 of these hunters it was their first bird ever!

Great event Barry. Congrats to all of the BOSA group for a successful event.
