Got on a decent bird this morning. Bird gobbled late and stayed in the tree pretty late but gobbled good. After flydown he worked towards me but hunt up about 100yds out. While all this was going on a bird started gobbling farther down the creek behind me. Me and the close bird talked back and forth for about 30 min with neither of us giving in. Finally I went for broke and cut really hard at him followed by some yelps then put the call down. All was quiet for what seemed like a long time and the bird behind me was really gobbling. I was just about to stand up when the bird gobbled at 50yds. Yelped quiet as I could and he was quiet. Not long and I could hear him walking in the leaves. He was coming to my hard right so I took off my vest and tried to turn. Finally saw him coming up the road. When he got behind a big oak I raised my gun. When he cleared the oak he was in strut. He must have seen meor was looking for a hen because he periscope me, so I had to make a quick shot on him. 30yds with the 410 dropped him. Really nice hunt. Ended up about 18lbs with 9 inch beard and inch spurs. Ill go back next weekend for the bird on the creek.

Good hunt, looks like gobbling is finally picking up. I expect that .410 was a little easier to support on a turkey coming in to your right.
