I know there is a little bit of info in the archives on this but a lot of the info is pretty old (pre 2008). Can anyone help a fellow turkey hunter out with trying to find a bird in the National Forest. Not looking for your secret spot but maybe somewhere to start where I can find a bird to hunt. I am here in Virginia working in Arlington, VA until the end of May. I decided to try to turkey hunt since I am missing the entire turkey season back home. I tried the Big Woods WMA last weekend without much luck. The only trick is I am archery hunting so I will have to carry in more equipment than probably the average turkey hunter. Any help would be awesome. Thanks guys!

If you are in Arlington.. I suggest you go to Fort Belvoir.. it is Archery Only.. just have to pass their shooting test and buy their permit.. may make you sit through a short class..

You will find more Turkey there than the GW National Forest I guarantee it..
