Saw a show video on youtube of a guy hunting turkeys with a .22 cal air rifle. Not that I like a rifle to hunt turkey with, but it got me thinking. So I did some reasearch and found that they do have air powered shot guns. You pack your own loads, and they pattern like your hunting shotgun, switchable choke tubes etc, but less noise. With the rising cost and lack of ammo, maybe an air powered shotgun might be the next big thing. Also seems that they are a legal device to hunt turkey with in VA. What are you guys thoughts on this??

I shot one with a 45 cal air rifle. Not a shotgun style. Maybe they'll come up with a true shotgun air gun but now all I've seen have rifled barrels. Not conducive to shot patterns.

I have a Kalibrgun Cricket .25 cal. w a 2x7 scope. Use it for squirrels and groundhogs.
Thing is a hammer and super accurate (5 shots at 50 yds can be covered w a nickel). More accurate than my Ruger 10/22. I called a bird into 15 yds and held the crosshairs just below the skull. Bird moved a fraction of an inch and I just grazed his neck. Gun shoots a 24 gr pellet at 920 fps and you can actually see the pellet on its way to target (zero recoil so you can see through scope).
Only reason I used it was cuz property was right next to a big neighborhood where a shotgun blast would be a major issue.
If you can shoot a shotgun instead…do it.

And the PCP shotguns you’re talking about are still loud. Not as loud as a 20 gauge but closer to a .22.
