Post subject:  Striker handles made out of ????

I have too many strikers for pot or other friction calls but I can’t stop trying new ones. And I have some great variety in the hand balance pieces on the ends of these stickers for these calls.

Obviously the turned one piece strikers are typically some wood or man make material as tip end.

But for some strikers there is a Wood or other type ll piece entirely different than the piece of material that actually touches the call surface. Other non hardwood Examples I have or have seen that are not same material as the sticker cyclinder, which is typically wooden dowel, graphite, Carbon, acrylic etc:
:
Carved and Uncarved deer antler
Cedar
M 1 bullet case
Formed plastic amplifier of sorts
Various pieces turkey bones or duck bone
Ceramics
Corn cob
Cow horn
Carbon dowel
Large Arrowhead or spear point
River cane

Any handles you have seen that are different ?

I smile at your list of oddities, gets my brain spinning. I made a few years ago with corn cob, still use them to this day. And the part that touches the call surface i think i purchased at Lowes or Home Depot, they work and sound just fine. Wooden dowels cut to length and sanded/rounded. Think I experimented with different lengths but the standard look seemed to work best. I also have the plastic amplifier one you mention.

Although I know different strikers produce different results I never focused much on them. The one I use is deer antler tip with turned ebony on a slate. And a dymond all wood striker on a glass pot.
