Made it to Florida for the opener again this year on some public land. Buddy smoked one around 8 this morning that came in running to us. Got one more bird left on this 3 day hunt and off to some private land on Tuesday.

nice bird and congratulations to your friend.. Some thick cover in the pictures , which makes for some challenging hunting down there. are you far enough south to be in true Osceola country? Wings on the bird in the picture looks like you are.....North Fl opened today and it is the first N Fla opener I ve missed in long time. be down that way later I hope.

Not only did you get it started but got it in overdrive. Congratulations to your friend. Good looking size bird.

Like GN, except, I am not making it to Florida at all this year. So please keep those pics and stories coming out of Florida.

Another crazy hunt this morning roosted a bird the night before and setup on him in the morning was 80 yards from him and had more birds we never knew we're there about 150 yards behind us. Had the hens that we're with the gobbler pitch down in our decoys but the gobbler never flew down. About a minute later I hear foot steps and a gobble 10 yards behind us as they came by us going to the decoy ended up being 6 long beards and I picked out the biggest one. After I shot the bird we we're actually hunting fly's down and starts flogging the dead bird. We are now done with the quota hunt and will have to wait until Tuesday to hunt private land since the rancher will have a bunch of cowboys rounding up cattle tomorrow. So going to do some fishing.. and yes we are in the Osceola zone about 30 mins north of Orlando

i cannot see the pictures in the first post of your friends turkey. They were there earlier, but not now. Instead of the picture there is an image saying "contact Photobucket to upgrade your account".
