This hunt had more meaning than most.
As a lot of you know I was injured in a treestand accident nearly 30 years ago leaving me paralyzed.
A younger friend of mine nearly suffered the same fate 4 years ago when he too had a treestand accident. Doctors told him he would never walk again but he defied their prognosis and now walks with a cane even though it's difficult for him.
Sharing similar fates we have become closer over the last few years because we know some of the difficulties the other one faces.
We began hunting together a few years ago just to show we could do it. After all neither of us was expected to hunt again.
You should see a man with partial use of one leg trying to maneuver another man in a wheelchair. We've had some great laughs along the way which has only added to our hunts.
Well we hunted "The Rock Farm'' yesterday knowing there were several birds in there somewhere.
The hunt was a quick one - the bird was flopping at 6:42. We stayed another 4 hours hoping to strike another but to no avail.
The ''kill'' was of minor importance this day- this was a day where 2 men born 3 decades apart came together and proved the naysayers wrong.
Meet my buddy Cody McCulloch who has a drive & passion for the outdoors that is rarely seen. I am honored to call him friend!
