The TWRA Commission set the 2005 spring turkey hunting season this morning.
Open the youth turkey hunt on the 4th Saturday in March and expand the hunt to 2 days (March 26-27)
Extend the regular turkey season by 4 days to allow a Sunday, May 15 closure.
Regular Season: April 2 - May 15

Tenn. season used to open in March, two weeks before Va. Last two years only one. What gives? |

Tenn choose to open annually the saturday closest to APril 1...you all in Va open the second sat in April, according to Freddy, so this happen s to be years when those dates are closer than they would be in 5-7 years from now. Tenn opens way too late for the middle/west part of the state and a little too late for the east....they ask for comments, but did not adhere to mine. |
