It is down on the backroads between Surry and Claremont. I don't think there are to many large bucks around Surry, but I may be mistaken. This one was pretty nice though. |

Where do you hunt in Surry? Are you in a club? IT seems like all of the land is private family land or is rented by a hunt club. |

Pete,
The boys at school just told me a youngster shot a huge buck last night between Surry and Dendron. Details to come later. I hunt on some farms of people I work with plus my land. Used to be in a club but too many "city boys" in the club causing friction. Best thing to do was leave. Could join several clubs but am enjoying the nondog hunting. I also heard this morning that International Paper wasn't going to allow dog hunting for new leases because of legal issues-getting sued if the dogs caused an accident. |

Pete,
It was shot on some of land that a lady lets Surry Hunt Club hunt. Her grandson shot it. 10pts but don't know the spread. A really nice deer is what the boys tell me. Also, a 27 inch(O.D.) 8 pt. was checked in at Rushmere yesterday evening. I saw a picture of it this morning. |

It seems like Surry Hunt Club has all the land around there. I guess they missed out on one though! Keep me posted and I'll let you know whats going on around here.
